From The Misbehavers to Here Inside, 2009

Between January and June, I played around Barcelona with both The Misbehavers and The Return while working on my songs.

In July, I performed snapshots of my music at a Petcha Kutcha night in Barcelona.

At the beginning of August, we played our final show together as The Misbehavers at the Nunoff festival. This time with David Faure on percussion.

At the end of August, as a finalist in the Mujeres del Planeta songwriting competition, I was invited to play at the Teatro Lara, in Madrid. My prize is recording my winning song, Dreaming of the end, with producer Paco Ortega, for the compilation CD.

On 7 November, I played my first show of original songs with Maru Di Pace and Ivo Saint, both from the band, Dodo. We opened Michael Bevilacqua’s exhibition at The Senda Gallery in Barcelona and were filmed by Barcelona Television.

On 23 November, we began recording my debut album.

The Return to my first demos, 2008

In January, I met Uruguayan guitarist Sebastian Crispo and we began writing together. In February, with a set of originals to try out, we hit the open mike scene in Barcelona and later started playing shows under the band name, The Return.

In May, I met New York producer Dave Bianchi, and from his advice was inspired to start playing the guitar and writing my own music.

In October, I put together jazz, blues and folk covers band, The Misbehavers, with Sebastian Crispo on guitar, Stefano Pompilio on double bass and Felipe Greene on drums. We played our first show together that month in Tornasol.

In November, I was invited to a Voll Damm Jazz Festival after party, hosted by Jordi Pujol from Fresh Sounds Records. I met a number of incredible musicians there including trumpet player, Avishai Cohen and double bass player, Giulia Valle.

In December, I recorded a three song demo produced by Dave Bianchi with Giulia Valle on double bass, Oriol Roca on drums, Bernat Font on rhodes and keyboard and Sasha Agranov on cello.

The very beginning, 2007

In January, I met jazz guitarist, Ben McDonnell. Determined to give some time to my oldest and sweetest dream, we arranged to start jamming together.

In March, inspired by listening non-stop to Martin Scorcese Plays The Blues, I woke up in the middle of the night with my first song, Done Talking. Soon after, Ben and I started writing together and played a few open mike nights around London.

In August, following a cup of tea and a lot of convincing from my oldest friend, Tiana, I decided to follow my impulse to make a deeper commitment to music.

We left London with our oversized suitcases and headed for Barcelona, where I planned to re-learn the piano and write an album within the month! Always the realist! Deeply enchanted and inspired by the city, I decided to stay longer.
